THE SCOTTISH SUN 80s RADIO

SCOTLAND LOVES THE 80s

When The Scottish Sun launched a radio station that played hits exclusively from the 1980s, the challenge was to make internationally successful music from up to 40 years ago relevant to areas in present day Scotland.

Pulse rose to that challenge with a smile, blending some of the greatest band names of the 1980s with the names of Scottish towns and cities. We also used the iconic style of that decade to make the campaign feel instantly recognisable, wherever it appeared. So Aberdeen became Abbadeen, Ayr became Ayrosmith and we were also introduced to DundeeMC and Fife Star. Why? Because the whole of Scotland loves the 80s.
